Husband & Wife Team Run for Guide Dogs for the Blind On Sunday 25th October 2009, Linda Blake Deputy Town Clerk and Husband Jonathan Blake ran the Great South Run in Portsmouth. To date they have raised over £500.00.
Jamaica Crescent Official Opening The official opening of Jamaica Crescent Playarea was opened on Friday 21st August 2009 by Councillor Paul Tuthill, the afternoon was throuroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The refurbishement was completed by Playworld Systems.
Judges On Board Malvern in Bloom judging day 7th July 2009, the judges of the Heart of England in Bloom came to Malvern to judge Malvern in the Large Town Category, despite the changeable weather conditions, the judges commended the town's high community spirit. The town must now wait until 3rd September 2009 for the result.
Bands in the Park Sunday 28th June 2009 Sunday afternoon was a very special day as Bnads in the Park was sponsored by the Civic Society who were celebrating their anniversary and also the Chairman's charity Guide Dogs for the Blind were in attendance and raised £266.35.
Victoria Park Official Opening the play area was opened on Thursday 28th May 2009 by Vice Chairman, Councillor Hickling, the afternoon was extremely well attended. The park was designed and constructed by Playworld Systems who also kindly provided the refreshments for the opening event.
Bands in Priory Park is nearly upon us again, we have a great line up this year, with many bands returning by popular request. Bands in Priory Park is a free event which happens every Sunday from 24th May - 13th September 2009 from 2.30- 4.30pm.
Munches & Bunches 26th March 2009 Lyttelton Well, Great Malvern as part of Heart of England and Malvern in Bloom 2009, Councillor John Jordan of MTC has organised an evening with chef and raconteur Bob Harris who demonstrated florial displays whilst cooking a meal, the evening raised over £400.00.
Annual Town Council Meeting 31st March 2009 a presentation was given by Roger Sutton from the Civic Society and the meeting was chaired by Councillor Caroline Bovey.
Malvern Rotary Pancake Race 24th February 2009 for the first time Malvern Town Council took part in the fundraising pancake race which took place in Priory Park, even though we do not win, we raised a handsome some for St Richard's Hospice.
Chairman, Councillor Caroline Bovey's Civic Service 15th February 2009 the afternoon was a great success and was attended by over 130 people which included youth groups and dignatories from various counties.
Chairman held a New Year Charity Concert on 22nd January 2009 - The Chairman of Malvern Town Council held a New Year Charity Concert, over 50 people were in attendance and we raised £385.00 in aid of Malvern MIND and British Bee Keepers Association. Thank you to all those who assisted in making the evening a huge success.
Traders Christmas Window Competition 2008 - Over 30 traders entered the Christmas Window Competition this year. Judges were Chairman, Councillor Bovey and Children's presenter Michael Absalom. First prize went to Malvern Hills Art, second prize to Burleys Hairdressers and third prize to The Knitting Parlour.
Christmas Lights Switch-On 2008 - On Friday 21st November 2008, the Christmas lights were switched on by Clive Mantle, the evening was kicked off by Charlie Green singing some Christmas songs and Wyvern FM Helen Wheels son Patrick made an appearance.
Armistice Day 2 Minutes Silence - Tuesday 11 November 2008, Armistice Day was led by Reverend Barr at The War Memorial.
Remembrance, Parade and Service - Sunday 9 November 2008, The Remembrance Ceremony at the War Memorial was well attended, followed by the Service in the Priory with about 150 in the Congregation. Thank you to all those who participated in the Parade and Ceremony.
Macmillan Coffee Morning - The Chairman, Councillor Bovey, hosted a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the Worlds Largest Coffee Morning 2008 The event, held in the Chapel at Great Malvern Cemetery on 26th September was attended by the actress Susan Hampshire and raised £318.00
Macmillan Coffee Morning On Friday 25th September 2009, Vice Chairman Councillor Hickling held a Macmillan Coffee Morning at GMC Chapel, the morning was hugely successful with a raffle and bring and buy sale. The morning raised £363.40.
Chairman's Summer Charity Concert On the 31st August the Chairman held a Summer Charity Concert in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind, the afternoon was very successful and the afternoon raised £1,402 towards the charity.
