   The second year of the Chairman's Summer Charity Concert saw the introduction of food and fete stalls which seemed to be very successful.  The event was well attended with over 1000 people throughout the day.  We would like to thank the following performers/stall holders for making the day a great success.

Malvern Town Council would like to thank The Boys Brigade and Malvern Town Councillors for giving up their time to help throughout the afternoon and last but not least thanks go to Paperstation in Malvern for donating the fete stall prizes.

 

 

 

Election of a Councillor for Chase Ward

Malvern Town Council are for the second year running holding the Chairman's Summer Charity Concert on Monday 30 August 2010 from 12.00 - 6.00pm in Priory Park. 

The afternoon event is for all the family including:

  • Photographic Displays - Beacon Camera Club
  • New for 2010 - Small selection of Food and Fete Stalls

Thanks go to Waitrose, Guarlford Grange Garden Centre and Somerfield for donating prizes towards the prize giving presentation.          

 

On Friday 9th July 2010 local Malvern in Bloom judges, judged residents and traders gardens, windows and floral displays.  The judges found the task this year a very difficult one as everyone put so much effort into the competition.

15TH JULY 2010  HEART OF ENGLAND IN BLOOM JUDGES

On Thursday 15th July 2010 the Heart of England Judges came to Malvern to judge us in the Large Town Category.  The judges started off from Davenham Care Home on Graham Road from 9.30am and proceeded through Great Malvern, Barnards Green and Malvern Link, ending up at Great Malvern Library - Bloem Cafe for lunch.

The judges said that there was tremendous spirit and involvement from all areas of the community.  Thank you to the Bloom Committee who have worked so hard in making the judging day a success.

COUNCILLOR WILLIAM ATKINSON

A memorial service for Councillor Atkinson will be held on Wednesday 7th July 2010, 12.00noon at Christ Church, Avenue Road, Malvern.  Afterwards at Malvern Sea Cadets on Spring Lane, Malvern.

 

  BANDS IN THE PARK

23RD MAY - 12TH SEPTEMBER 2010

 

It is that time of year again and after a very successful first Sunday 23rd May 2010 with the Royal Lancashire Fusiliers Band, the attendance was over 400 which is a brilliant turnout to start off the season. 

 

The bands are every Sunday between 2.30pm to 4.30pm with the exception of the following combined band Saint-Vincent-Du-Lorouer Band and Malvern Chase Brass Band on 29th August 2010 from 2.30pm to 5.00pm

LAUNCH OF THE NEW CHAIRMANS YEAR

On  20 May Malvern Town Council had a reception to celebrate the New Chairmans Year.  The Chairman, Councillor Paul Tuthill said it was an honour to be re-elected for a second year as Chairman for Malvern Town Council. 

 

Councillor Tuthill spoke about the enormous support for his charity in 2009/10 Guide Dogs for the Blind raising                                                    £5,293.46 and followed on to announce his new charity for 2010/11 The Peace of Mind Appeal, which has been set up to meet the needs of a full integrated Care Service package for older people is a specialist dementia care home. 

The reception took place at Malvern Library's Bloem Cafe and the drinks were provided by Belle Vue Wines, thanks go to both for such a superb evening.

 

MALVERN IN BLOOM COMMITTEE ARE CALLING ALL MALVERN RESIDENTS & TRADERS

  Malvern Town Council and Malvern in Bloom Committee invites all residents and businesses in Malvern to take part in the local Malvern in Bloom Competitions theme 'Local Roots' for 2010.  

All commercial businesses around Malvern that contribute to the event with floral displays will automatically be entered into the business competition.  The competition is split into three categories: Small Businesses, Large Commercial Businesses and Licensed Premises (including bars, restaurants and hotels).

In 2009 there was a 50% rise in resident participation and we hope that this will increase again for 2010.  Redsidents' competition categories include; hanging baskets, planters/troughs, individual gardens, window box and neighbourhood award - up to three gardens in one street/road can enter.

REG MOULE BBC HEREFORD & WORCESTER  GARDENING CORRESPONDENT 

 The Malvern in Bloom committee held an evening with Reg Moule on 8th April 2010 at the Lyttelton Well Great Malvern, the evening had both informative and practical advice from planting flowers to tending  to vegetable patches and allotments.  The evening raised £148.00 for Malvern in Bloom. 

  The committee would like to thank all those who supported the event through raffle prizes and helping out on the evening.
