Christmas Festival

Organisers of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival have reluctantly taken the collective decision to cancel the outdoor elements of the Christmas Festival event scheduled for Saturday 27 November 2021.

Storm Arwen is forecast to bring windy weather on Friday night into Saturday and with wind speeds currently expected to gust up to 50mph on Saturday, the decision to cancel all outdoor activities including the arts and crafts market, and 6pm lights switch-on has been made in the interest of public safety.

However, the good news is that Father Christmas will still be opening his grotto in Great Malvern Library, from 10am until 4pm, along with a Polar Bear and a number of exciting workshops to take part in.

Great Malvern Priory Church will also be open from 10am from 4pm and hope to continue with a variety of activities and music performances throughout the day; they will, however, be cancelling their Carol Concert at 6pm. Please check their website for updated details.

You can also join Malvern Hills District Council’s augmented reality trail (please see their website for details) and Malvern Town Council are running a Christmas Wreath competition and trail, please see Malvern Town Council’s website for further details.

We will now be turning on the lights at 6pm on Wednesday 1st December with pantomime stars from Malvern Theatres and the Mayor Cllr Nick Houghton on Belle Vue Island in Great Malvern.
