Community Action Malvern and District are celebrating their 50th anniversary in style with various commemoration events in and around Malvern. Here at the Town Council, we are contributing to this special time by lighting the well-known buzzards sculpture in Rosebank Gardens in a shimmering gold light for the next three weeks.
Community Action provides car transport for those without access to public transport as well as community minibus services covering Malvern, Upton and Tewkesbury. The minibuses are available for hire by local community groups and there are also two wheelchair accessible cars.
Community Action also currently run two projects which address loneliness and social isolation: the Out & About project provides social outings for shopping trips, lunches, Sunday Teas and film club as well as visits to places of interest, while a Men’s Shed helps to develop social friendships at the same time as using or learning new skills such as woodwork.
All of Community Action’s services are delivered by volunteers. To find out more about their services please call 01684 892381 or visit their website.
