Join us on Saturday 30 April for the Mayor’s Peaks Challenge 2022. This event gives you the chance to take part in either a long or short organised walk over the beautiful Malvern Hills, with breath-taking views to the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the Black Mountains, May Hill and Hay Bluff.
For those who like a challenge, the long walk is 15km (6-8 hours) and will take you over the seventeen peaks of the Malvern Hills “end to end”. Registration will be at The Coach House Theatre with coaches leaving between 8am and 9am to take walkers to the starting point on the Bromesberrow Estate.
If you prefer something a bit shorter, the short walk is 7km (3-5 hours) taking in the main section of the Malvern Hills. Shuttle buses will take you from registration at The Coach House Theatre from 10.15am until 11.30am.
Both walks are challenging and you must wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and carry adequate food and water for the walk. There is a café and public toilets at British Camp, approximately halfway along the longer walk.
Everyone will finish in the car park of the Mount Pleasant Hotel in the centre of Malvern, and be presented with a special medal by the Mayor of Malvern. For any well-behaved dogs who complete the walks, there will be a lovely rosette kindly sponsored by Austin & Co.
All entrance fees will go to support the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and although not mandatory, we hope that everyone can raise some sponsorship – every little bit helps!
