Cllr Nick Houghton (Mayor)

“I moved to Upper Colwall in 2016, having lived in Worcester and Malvern Town Centre previously.  I have worked in Malvern Chase for the past thirteen years and continue to do so.

I represent residents in the Chase Ward.  I want to work with local businesses to encourage people to shop locally and support local businesses as much as possible.  It is also my wish that we recognise the value local people and local communities add to the very nature of why Malvern is such a great place to live and work.  Working with others I want to try and ensure funding for the area is maintained, to enable everyone has as much access to local services as possible and to support initiatives to address local issues.

Also, I want the Town Council to work as best it can for the community it serves. Malvern Town Council staff work so hard behind the scenes keeping Malvern Town a great place to live and work and play.

North Malvern Ward

Cllr Clive Hooper (Deputy Mayor)

Since moving to Malvern eighteen years ago, I have joined a number of local community groups and I have had a particular interest in the local National Trust Centre, Malvern Civic Society, and the Malvern Community Networking Forum – having had the privilege to serve these as Chairman for some years at various times.  My local interests can thus be seen as wishing to promote our historic heritage and conserve our fine buildings, our natural environment and the town’s general appearance, as well as seeking to provide better community facilities.  I represent North Malvern on the Town Council and am Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee.  I was elected to the Council in May 2019.”

Clive is Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee and represents the Town Council at meetings of the County Association of Local Councils (CALC), the Malvern Twinning Steering Group and the Malvern Hills College Task Force.

Dyson Perrins Ward

Cllr Clive Fletcher

I have lived in Malvern for much of my life attending the Chase High School before moving away to University. I returned to Malvern in my late twenties and have enjoyed living in the town with all it has to offer ever since.

Having worked in Local Government, the NHS and presently the University of Worcester, I appreciate the importance of services provided both in terms of health and education to the local community. In addition to working at the University of Worcester, I am also a Trustee for the local charity, Malvern Special Families, which provides much needed additional support to children and young people with special needs.

I am particularly interested in how we can improve the town we live in, with particular emphasis on ensuring we can regenerate  the local retail areas within Malvern, by targeted support. Also ensuring that to complement this there are useable green spaces supporting leisure activities, that can be enjoyed by the whole community. As a councillor I will look to promote and support ideas that enhance the community we live in for all to enjoy and benefit from.

Clive is a member of the Policy and Resources Committee and the Policy Review Task and Finish Group.

Other councillors representing Dyson Perrins ward: Cllr Ronan McLaverty-Head and Cllr Aidan Stitt.
