Malvern Town Council is excited to share that we are hosting our first ever online Earth Day event! Earth Day will be live on Malvern Town Council’s YouTube channel, on Thursday 22 April from 10am.
We have put together an exciting programme of activities for all ages, combining talks, debates, virtual tours and interactive workshops for you to participate in throughout the day from 10am – 8pm.
The first half of the day is aimed primarily at schools with talks and activities from local experts about bees and bugs, as well as reptiles and amphibians. There will be the chance to take part in making seed bombs out of clay and designing your own bug house. There will also be an Earth Day yoga session.
The second half of the day focusses on bio-diversity, carbon reduction and sustainability. Join us for talks on rewilding, recycling and local projects throughout Malvern. The Cube Eco Warriors will be running a quiz and sharing their top tips with you and we will have a talk from a local entrepreneur who has worked with NASA who will share his invention on how dog waste can provide an energy source for gas lamps. There will also be a talk about the benefits of electric cars, a lively debate about the environmental impact of veganism versus cattle production, and to end the day, an interesting talk entitled “Destination Zero - creating a greener and more sustainable Malvern Hills District” from Malvern Hills District Council’s very own carbon reduction project officer.
