After a successful change of venue in 2021, the Mayor’s Bonanza returns to Victoria Park in Malvern Link on Sunday 28 August from 12 noon until 5pm.
This year’s Bonanza will offer fun and entertainment for all ages. There will be music all day with bands including Candy and the Sound, and Waiting for Gary along with entertainment and workshops provided by Dance in Motion and Solo Circus. For the adventurous there will be a zorbing arena, climbing wall and bumper carz and we are delighted to be joined by representatives from Worcester Wolves who will be running taster sessions on the basketball courts. Fete stalls, dart football, and face painting are amongst other activities to be enjoyed. New for this year is an allotment produce competition for budding gardeners and there will be plenty to tempt your tastebuds in our food village.
All proceeds from this event will be going towards the Mayoral Charity for the year, Guide Dogs. We are delighted that we will be joined by representatives from the local branch who will be running a Guide Dog stall and tombola, so please come along and meet them and their dogs and see how this hard-working charity helps to make sure that people living with sight loss don’t lose their freedom as well. There will also be training demonstrations during the day to show how guide dogs learn their guiding skills and apply them to everyday situations.
Malvern Town Council have set an ambitious fundraising target for the year of £10,000 with the aim being to name a puppy when that target is met. The Mayor’s Bonanza is one of the Council’s largest events during the year and therefore it is hoped that this will get the fundraising pot off to a good start. The Mayor’s Bonanza is an event for the community and there will be free live music and entertainment during the day, but some activities and rides will have a small charge to raise money for the Guide Dog charity.
So please come along and have a great afternoon of fun whilst helping to raise money for this charity.
